Women on the R.I.S.E.

by Sholayide Otugalu |

Joséphine Cosmetics encourages women to be both feminine and aggressive in their stance against violence and to belie stereotypes that suggest this combination is not possible. With every purchase of a Joséphine product in our new lip arsenal, we will donate partial proceeds to support RISE's efforts in addressing gender based violence.

Women on the R.I.S.E.! Meet the femme vigilantes who stand up and work diligently to end gender based violence. Read more about the @riseslo all stars below:

Meet Theresa Mortilla, our Counseling Services Director at RISE! She is a rebel, wearing TWO shades of Joséphine Cosmetics lipstick in shades Sirius and Bellatrix.

Q: Hey superhero, why are you fighting to end gender-based violence through your role at RISE?
A: I am committed to being on the side of social justice for all women, men, and children who have been violated and abused.
Q: What super power do you wield in this fight?
A: I have a fierce spirit.
Q: What do you think about (the "oxymoron") feminine power?
A: In this very threatening time for all humanity, it is the feminine power...our strength that must prevail if we stand a chance of surviving.

Thank you for all that you do, Theresa!

But I don't identify as only a survivor, I identify as a warrior. I am fighting to end gender-based violence because no one should ever be made to feel that they are unworthy of love or respect.

Q: What super power do you wield in this fight?
A: I always speak my mind...even if it gets me in trouble!

Ashleigh, thank you for all that you do!
